Antioxidant effect

Antioxidants slow down the activity of free radicals: by-products of a normal metabolism. Each time you convert food into energy, free radicals are formed. They can also enter your body from the outside world via pollution from smoking, chemicals or radiation. Free radicals affect vital membranes and impede the activity of enzymes, proteins and DNA.
