Taste differs. Therefore there are two types of Zespri kiwis. Either with a fresh, tart green taste or with deliciously sweet yellow flesh. Whichever you choose, you must admit: kiwis are delicious.

Tuesday - Good for digestion

A green kiwi is high in fibre which helps to improve digestion in a natural way. But the fact that kiwis are a natural laxative can also be explained by the fact that they contain a soluble protein enzyme, actinidin. This enzyme helps us to digest proteins (for example, in meat and dairy products) and stimulates digestion. Kiwis are the only fruit with the actinidin enzyme and that's what makes the kiwi so unique.

Kiwis as a component of a balanced diet, combined with sufficient fluids and excercise, is the easy way to achieve a regular bowel habit. A healthy digestive system ensures faster metabolism and speedy removal of toxins from the body.

Wednesday - Low in calories

55 and 72 kcal per 100 grams: that is the energy content of respectively the Zespri Gold and the Zespri Green. The Zespri Gold contains mainly fructose, a natural sugar that appears mainly in fruit. Fructose is a lot sweeter than glucose, which gives the yellow kiwi its sweet flavour. In short: Zespri Gold is a sweet that you do not have to avoid.

Thursday - Chock full of antioxidants

Green and yellow kiwis are rich in vitamin C. Moreover, the yellow kiwi is also a source of vitamin E (twice as much as an apple!). Both vitamins have a strong antioxidant effect: they protect our bodies against harmful substances, the so-called free radicals, and thereby protect us against illnesses and aging.

Friday - Low glycemic index

Zespri Green and Gold have a low glycemic index (GI) (39 and 48 percent respectively). This means that the carbohydrates do not get absorbed so quickly by the body and the glucose is only gradually released into the bloodstream. As a result fat burns relatively easily and it lessens your craving for food. Products with a low GI lessen the risk of diabetes and heart disease.

Saturday - Source of folic acid

Pregnant or wanting children? Your GP will definitely recommend folic acid. This B-vitamin helps the development of genetic material. Especially the Zespri Gold kiwis contain folic acid. Of course you cannot get all the folic acid that you need during pregnancy from your kiwis. But kiwi fruit is an excellent – and tasty! – addition to the folic acid that your GP prescribes.

Sunday - They are so delicious!

Taste differs. Therefore there are two types of Zespri kiwis. Either with a fresh, tart green taste or with deliciously sweet yellow flesh. Whichever you choose, you must admit: kiwis are delicious.
