Smoothie with Zespri Green kiwifruit, banana, chia seeds and soy milk

It can sometimes be an arduous task to get our children to eat healthy. So here's a delicious way to include fibre and other essential nutrients in teen’s diet. You can combine it with other seasonal fruits but never forget the kiwifruit!

This is a recipe rich in fibre with high vitamin C content, and a good source of potassium and a natural source of folate.

Ingredients Method

Ingredients

  • 2 bananas
  • 2 Zespri Green kiwifruit
  • 30 g chopped walnuts
  • 4 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 5 dL soy milk (or oat milk)
  • 4 teaspoons agave nectar

Method

  1. Grind up the chia seeds into a fine powder. Peel and cut up the bananas and Zespri Green kiwifruit.
  2. Put all the cut fruit in the blender with the chopped walnuts. Pour in soy milk and blend to smoothie texture. Keep in fridge until ready to serve.
